We know people love coffee, but the real question still remains, why? To put it simply, the benefits of coffee are seemingly endless.

  1. Coffee provides a communal feeling among groups of people. While waiting in line at your local coffee shop it’s never too hard to strike up a conversation with your fellow coffee-goers because you already know you have something in common, your love for this popular drink. In college, everyone tends to flock to the kid with the coffee maker like moths to a light.
  2. The smell of coffee can reduce stress. Researchers at Seoul National University conducted a study on rats that demonstrated a decrease in proteins tied to stress when they were exposed to the smell of coffee.
  3. Coffee can reduce your likelihood of feeling depressed. The National Institute of Health conducted a survey which revealed that those who drink four or more cups of coffee per day are 10% less likely to feel depressed than those who do not get this coffee fix.
  4. By aiding in the production of serotonin, dopamine, and noradrenaline, coffee makes its consumers happier, thus reducing the risk of suicide in coffee drinkers by fifty percent.
  5. Coffee can help you have a better workout. Caffeine gives you a boost of energy by allowing your body to burn fats for fuel quicker and save carbs for the end of the workout so you have prolonged energy and a better performance over time.
  6. Coffee can reduce your risk of developing Alzheimers. Multiple studies conducted by Floridian universities have found that people over the age of 65 with a greater quantity of caffeine in their blood were likely to develop Alzheimers 2 to 4 years later than the average person.
  7. Coffee keeps you up. The most obvious benefit of coffee is the boost that the caffeine gives its consumer. For college students and working adults alike, coffee provides a necessary artificial feeling of awakeness.
  8. Coffee improves your intellectual abilities. Caffeine improves things such as reaction time, focus, and mental capabilities, thus rendering it increasingly beneficial to the struggling student.
  9. Coffee lowers your risk of a great number of diseases. Your chances of acquiring Parkinson’s disease, stroke, dementia, and certain cancers decrease as you ingest more of this drink.
  10. Coffee boosts your metabolism and acts as a diuretic. Because of this, coffee can aid in weight loss endeavors and reduce issues such as constipation.
