After a tough season last year, Boys’ Basketball is looking to rebound from a record of 8-16. After 2 rebuilding years, their goals are high this season. Behind key seniors Matt Mauro, Mike Diorio, Sam Brodsky, and Tom DiMeo, along with juniors John Whalen and Matt Gray, Coach Cullen hopes to see his program return to its winning ways of old. The boys finished strong last season, capping off the campaign with wins of top ranked Manalapan and perennial contender Monsignor Donovan. Looking to build on this success, the team aims to make the Shore Conference and State tournaments and make a run for the division title, all of which have not been accomplished since the 2009-2010 season.
The Eagles open up the season with a 6:30 home game against Colts Neck, a top five team in the conference, on December 14th. As always, the boys are looking forwarded to games against cross town rivals Middletown North and CBA. Such a strong senior class realizes that expectations will be higher than ever, but they hope that all of their hard work and dedication will come to fruition on the court. Best of luck to the Boys’ Basketball team this season!
