The girls cross country team won their division for the eleventh year in a row, completing an undefeated season. The team is looking forward to invitational meets such as the Monmouth County championships, Shore Conference and are looking for a repeat state championship win. Coach Clifton explains that both girls who love to run, and girls who have never run before, have found a program that is both fun and helps them get fit.
The boys cross country team won their division this year with a record of 8-0. On 10/17/24 the team will match up against the best teams in the Shore to compete in the Monmouth County Championships. Despite having a “young team” the boys have “stepped up” and “learned to embrace training and racing” per Coach Bayers.
When spoken to, the tennis team was finishing up the season with a record of 8 to 7, an outstanding performance given the “amazing teams they have played this year”. The girls began tryouts in mid August and have played through October. Coach Wills has expressed her pride in the team, stating “Tennis is a very mental sport and the girls have truly worked towards having a growth mindset and never giving up.”
The cheerleaders have put together an amazing half time performance, which is showcased at every home football game. Coach Krellin expressed her excitement for the annual Thanksgiving day game, in which the entire team, of over 70 girls, will perform together. She states “I am looking forward to seeing the squad perform halftime on Thanksgiving… It should be a great performance.”
The boy’s varsity soccer team finished the season with a record of 7-4-3. The team made it to the second round of the shore conference tournament. Despite this loss Coach Riverso expresses his pride in his team, a group of players who had never started together prior to this season, who have made themselves number two in the state section.
The girl’s varsity soccer team finished the season with an impressive record of 13-3-1, winning the A North division. Despite a tough loss in the quarterfinals in the shore conference tournament, the team is looking for a repeat state tournament win, Coach Barry states, “I think we have a really good opportunity to win a championship there”.
