“Oz, The Great and Powerful”
How did The Great and Powerful Oz come to be? In this prequel to the original “Wizard of Oz” movie, we follow Oscar Diggs (James Franco) on a journey to vanquish the evil witch. The tables quickly turn, and it is up to him to save this magical land from being ruled by darkness. He is a magician working with a traveling circus, and has had his fair share of scamming people for money. One fateful day, he finds himself hurled out of dusty old Kansas and into the magical Land of Oz. After his crash landing, he comes under the impression that he has “hit it big” by gaining fame and fortune–but, there is a catch. The three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), are not completely convinced Oscar is who he claims to be. In order for him to become the ruler of Oz, he must rid the land of the evil witch. He must transform himself from a con man magician into The Great and Powerful Oz.
Director Sam Raimi brought the magical feeling of Oz back to the big screen in this fantasy film. Sitting in the theater chair was like actually experiencing the movie in its 3-D form. You are sure to love this spectacular and truly entertaining cinematic work of art!
MJ’s Bar and Grill
- The MJ’s located on Route 35 is one of three locations in New Jersey and specializes in American food like burgers, pizza, etc. and features some great pub grub. The bar and grill has a very relaxing atmosphere and is the place to be if you want to catch a burger and watch a game on one of their many televisions. But for after a movie, enjoy a seat at a table with a few of your friends. We recommend sharing your choice pizza for the table (the white pizza is excellent) and trying some of MJ’s Crispy Fish Tacos.
