After a very successful ten year run, the hit Netflix original, Stranger Things, has officially come to an end. The show is set in Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s. It follows a group of outcasts as they battle the government, interdimensional monsters, and the concept of getting older. Beginning in 2016, the show was an instant hit with a cast of unique characters who have you rooting for them no matter the circumstance. It keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Many fans have grown up with the show and it’s been viewed by 1.3 billion people worldwide. It has developed a devoted audience of fans willing to spend their holidays counting down to the release of the final season. The fans have also developed many theories throughout the seasons, the most recent one being #Conformitygate, which supported a hidden final episode. Season 5, the final season, was broken into three volumes. The first volume was released on 11/26, the second on Christmas day, and the final volume on New Year’s Eve. The first volume had great reactions, with its final episode rating 9.4 out of 10 on IMDB. The final episode garnered a slightly lower rating, 7.6 out of 10, with many mixed opinions. While the internet appears to be divided over the final season, no one can argue the success of the show throughout its ten year run. Despite this being the end of Stranger Things as we know it, fans can look forward to a documentary airing on Netflix on 1/12/26, Stranger Things Tales from ‘85, an animated series debuting in 2026, and Stranger Things: The First Shadow on Broadway.
