Sophia Montalbano is a very talented sophomore here at Middletown High School South. In September at only 15 years old, Sophia released her first EP, Something New. The EP features four songs:  ¨Alright,” “Schizophrenia,” “6 Feet, 7 Feet” and “Something New.¨ Her songs are also featured on websites such as Spotify, Google Play, and more. With guidance from her vocal teacher, Jersey Jung and some friends, she was able to write, produce and sing all of the songs that were featured.

Sophia began her music career about 5 years ago, but has loved music her whole life. Her parents frequently played music around her when she was growing up, which greatly influenced her love for music. Sophia strives to be different and is inspired by artists who have a unique taste in music. She hopes to continue to write new songs and find recording studios to make new music. Hopefully we can look forward to some great new music in the near future. ¨I really love music and I love making music and I just want people to have something different to listen to.¨
