On the evening of April 22nd the annual Dancing with the Teachers was held in the theater.

13 teachers were a part of the event and the theater was almost filled to capacity. Popular music filled the room while one amazing act after another took the stage.

The festivities began when, the always awesome Trezza, “brought it” as the opening act. Some of the highlights of the night were Mrs. Baratta’s “Beyonce mashup,” and her duet with South’s Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Coffey. Ms. Mazza wowed the audience with a jazzy tap number to the song “Ease on Down the Road” and Mr. Koumoulis cut a rug with a catchy rendition of “The Lady’s Choice,” from Hairspray.

The night also featured a very impressive Zumba routine by Mrs. Canal. Mr. Colavita led the zombies from “Thriller” while Mrs. O’Reilly and her group cheered on with the cheerleaders. Classic “Disco Inferno” by Ms. Boyce and the very legend  Mr. Kretsch, who rules the court and the stage, “Walked Like a Man”. The mystery couple was unveiled with cool moves by Lighbody and Favara. The evening came to a close with a “Wrecking Ball”  spoof from Mrs. Koumoulis, which was a real crowd pleaser!

It was an exciting moment when the results were posted and Ms. Conaty and Ms. Hancock came in 3rd with the final performance from Pitch Perfect. Judges Mr. McCabe, Mr. Rinella, Ms. Deignan, Mrs. Erskine , and Mr. Bayers had a tough time scoring, however, ultimately the winners were chosen by the audience through a live SMS poll.

Results placed Ms. Mazza in second with her tapping and Mrs. Baratta first, claiming her the gold medal for her outstanding Beyonce performance.
