SPORTS SUPERSTITION SURVEY

Jillian Weimer, Stephanie Karcz, and Carly Belz, Staff Writers

A superstition is a belief that certain events or things will bring good or bad luck. We have surveyed athletes from different sports teams to find out the rituals that are performed before they participate in a game, match, competition, etc.

“I listen to really loud music to get pumped”

“I must have a starbucks oatmeal and coffee before a tournament.”

“I have to wear a certain sports bra.”

“Right before a match the team bangs on the wall to get the next wrestler fired up.”

“In warmups, I need to make two layups from each side and make two mid-range jump shots before I take any three-pointers.”
