With a 14-13 win over divisional rival Toms River North on October 5th, Middletown South has secured the American Division Title. Avoiding a possible scenario in which the divisional title could have been shared between them and Toms River North, the 5th win of the Eagles season ensured that they would reign as division champions outright. The Eagles now stand at 5-1 overall and 5-0 in New Jersey. Their next game, following a bye week, is at home against the Lancers of Saint John Vianney on October 19th. That night also marks the Homecoming Game for Middletown South.

The Shore Conference, for the 2018 football season, completely restructured the division system. The new divisions for 2018 include the American, Constitution, Colonial, Liberty, Patriot, National, and Freedom divisions. Both Middletown South and Toms River North compete in the American Division, along with Howell, Freehold Township, Central, and Manalapan.
